hi all,
i've a TSL2.2 with samba and a 250GB usb disk. I need to share the usbdisk
with the others pc in LAN. Looked for in the mail list and i found out this
post

http://lists.trustix.org/pipermail/tsl-discuss/2005-August/015346.html

but it didn't find it helpfull :(

Does anybody could show me the way how to realize my plan, please?..Are
there any specific rpm or tarball, kernel modules to load ( not default in
2.4.34-1tr )?

thanks a lot

Just modprobe usb-storage and look in /var/log/messages, it will show
a /dev/sdx disk. Make a filesystem on it, mount it and share it in
samba.

usb-storage 26192 0 (unused)
usbcore 57260 0 [usb-storage]
scsi_mod 86068 2 [usb-storage sr_mod ide-scsi]
Not used, but I haven't any usb disks attached :)
------- 8< -------
/lib/modules/2.4.34-1tr/kernel/drive
rs/usb/storage/usb-storage.o
/lib/modules/2.4.34-1trsmp/kerne
l/drivers/usb/storage/usb-storage.o
Maybe copy it manually from the kernel rpm or reinstall/upgrade kernel?
Just my thoughts.. :)
gotcha...i don't know why but i've not this module

/lib/modules/2.4...../kernel/drivers/usb/storage/usb-storage.o

i've rebuild the default kernel leaving al usb modules selected by default
and magically i have it...

now remain to install it, reload the server and control/hope :) that
everything works

thank you very much for your support :)
