Hi TSL gurus,
The vim help files on my system can't be loaded. I've already installed
all the TSL vim packages but I still get errors. For example, when I want
to search for help, such as, say ":help indent", I get:
[No File]
E426: tag not found: indent()@en
This is true for all help topics.
When I do a simple ":help", I get:
[No File]
E426: tag not found: ***@en
I've scourged the NET, read the vim FAQ about regenerating the tags file
but it still does not work.
I've already generated the tags file, /usr/share/vim/vim63/doc/tags, but I
still am not able to load the help files.
At one point, I even copied another "tags" file from another machine, just
to make sure that I don't have the wrong "tags" file, but still, the help
files can't be loaded.
I've got the entire /usr/share/vim/vim63/doc/ intact.
The entire /usr/share/vim/vim63/doc/tags file has been generated too.
My vim variables are:
$VIMRUNTIME = /usr/share/vim/vim63
$VIM = /usr/share/vim
I really got all the vim packages installed.
***@aule /usr/share/vim/vim63/doc# rpm -qa | grep vim
vim-6.3.085-5tr
vim-tools-6.3.085-5tr
vim-doc-6.3.085-5tr
vim-syntax-6.3.085-5tr
I even downgraded all the vim packages to 6.2 but the error still
persists. I still am not able to load the vim help files.
Would anyone be willing to point out what my problem is?
And on another note, how come vim-doc does not install the file
/usr/share/vim/vim63/doc/tags?
Thank you very much.
Best Regards,
Carlo
